Shenrys | The SAHM Life

Adulting is hard but when you crossover into parenting that’s when things get really silly.

This is one of the reasons why I created The SAHM Life and to read comments that validate my rants. Haha. I would really like to build a community of deliriously humorous people and provide helpful post to parents like myself.

About Me:

Shannon | The SAHM Life

My name is Shannon, I am a stay at home mom to 4 1/2 Shenrys ( half way done baking) and I am married to 1. We have a 9-year-old, 7-year-old, 4-year -old, 3-year-old, and I am currently pregnant.

I have a brain altering relationship with sleep (Narcolepsy) and I don’t rise until 9 am (I can hear everything). I am obsessed with planning and surprises are not my thing but I am always ready. I’m overly excited about cloth diapering and you’re going to hear all about it. Breastfeeding is life (no disrespect to my formula mamas) and baby wearing will happen in the tank top under my graphic tee.

Our debate team resides in Kansas City, MO. (no not Kansas). I do not drive due to my lack of time to learn and my fear of driving while sleep. So for now I bring the outside world to my children the best way I can.

Cue The Violins

Having a disease, disorder, or illness is never easy but when you add responsibilities to the mix it’s even harder.

In 2014, I was diagnosed with Narcolepsy and Cataplexy but I’ve been experiencing this all of my life. Living day to day not really knowing what the problem was was always difficult for me. I was then diagnosed with IBS, Bipolar II, GAD, PTSD, Fibromyalgia, and Migraines. I have been very cautious about how I lived my life but then I experienced how working affected my family.

So I chose to stay home with my children to make sure they had the best of me and not the worse. At least when I am stressed out I am in the safety of my home surrounded by compassion! As a family, we have to plan around my disadvantages physically, emotionally, mentally, and financially. This can be tough for us but we are finding new ways everyday to make life a tad bit better. For me, being a mom blogger means to be of value to moms like me who want to succeed in life regardless of the challenges we encounter daily.

If you would like to say hello, share your story, collaborate, share your product, or reach out to me for any other reason please send me a message.

I am looking forward to hearing from you and growing a community that we can share our experiences in.
